Ingredients

  • 1 full packet powdered cheese mix from a box of mac and cheese
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 ½ cups mayonnaise
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons cayenne pepper
  • 1 ½ teaspoons smoked paprika
  • ¾ teaspoon granulated sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon cumin
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¾ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¾ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of water and 1 tablespoon of white vinegar. Add the powdered cheese mix and whisk until it forms a smooth paste. This step ensures your cheese blends seamlessly with the rest of the ingredients.
  2. Add the salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, granulated sugar, cumin, garlic powder, and onion powder to the bowl. Pour in 1 tablespoon of hot sauce for that signature fiery flavor. Stir everything together thoroughly.
  3. Gradually fold in 1½ cups of mayonnaise. Keep mixing until the sauce is smooth and creamy, with all the spices evenly distributed.
  4. Transfer the sauce to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. This helps the flavors meld together for that authentic Lava Sauce taste.

Notes

To store Taco Bell Lava Sauce properly, transfer it to an airtight container and refrigerate immediately. The sauce will stay fresh for up to one week. Ensure the container is tightly sealed to preserve flavor and prevent drying out. Stir well before serving, as some ingredients may settle over time. Avoid freezing, as it may alter the texture.
